Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way… Christmas time is here again, and so is the excitement! This year, our RoboBridge program celebrated its third session by bringing the holiday spirit to life in a special and meaningful way.
On this joyful day, 18 special guests and 20 dedicated volunteers gathered at Lexington Center, Room 139 for an unforgettable experience. Each child was paired with at least one volunteer to guide them through building robots using VEX GO education kits. This time, we added something extra special—a complete VEX GO field for the students to explore and test their creations.
The VEX GO kits gave the children the opportunity to attach different parts and structures to their bots, helping them complete various tasks. With support from the volunteers and step-by-step instructions, they built their own robots and even wrote simple code to make them move! It was incredible to see their creativity and focus come alive.
While some students were busy building and coding, others dove into the art section, where Allison Xu, one of our own 8889A team members, guided them in drawing and creative play. Allison’s warmth and enthusiasm made her a favorite among the students, and together, they created some beautiful and imaginative artwork. Even parents joined in, adding their own unique touches to the creative process.
Thanks to our funding and the generous donations of others, we were able to prepare 18 special gifts for our incredible guests. To make the day even brighter, Jason Ma stepped into the role of a young Santa, handing out presents and spreading joy. Seeing the happiness on the students’ faces was the perfect ending to a heartwarming event.
RoboBridge is more than just an activity; it’s a chance to make a difference, one session at a time. These moments not only create lasting memories for our special students but also provide a unique learning experience for our volunteers.
